"Broken Arrow"

Chief Rountree, Deptuy Chief Webb, FF Thompson, FF Champman and FF Newell returned recently from a freezing cold trip to Appleton Wisconsin to take delivey of a new Pierce Dash 105' Ladder truck. This fire apparatus is used for elevated water streams and evacuation of patients from upper floors. It also has an assortment of ground ladders.

The truck has already been given the nickname "Broken Arrow" by the shift 3 crew at Burton Hill.  The term "broken arrow" refers to a US Military code word used to request close air support from when a ground position is in extreme danger of being overrun by the enemy.  While the truck has no official name, we expect to hear that nickname used quite a bit around the station.

Burton Firefighters are currently training on operation of this truck and we will be putting this truck in service soon.
