It is a fire service tradition, dating back to the horse drawn days, to push a truck into the station! Firefighters and family pushed and pushed!
The Burton fire family welcomed its newest mechanical member this week – a 2010 Pierce Quantum pumper; complete with, 1000 gallon tank with 1500gpm pump capacity and over 3,400’ feet of hose. The pumper will soon be taking the place of Engine 821 and will be serving our citizens located in a highly populated district which includes commercial and industrial areas.

The new engine.

The F.A.S.T. team hosted the welcome party for our new truck by holding an ice cream social which was enjoyed and attended by many in the Burton family. Following a “thank you” address by Chief Harry Rountree and a visit from Sparky, firefighters and family - in a fire service tradition - pushed the fire truck into the station’s bay.

A heartfelt “thank you” to our F.A.S.T. team members for once again supporting us, our department, and making not only the event so special – but also being a member of this department so special.
More info to follow…

Thank you for all you do for us ladies!!!
