2nd Job in less than 48 Hours for Crews
By Captain James Still
Jan 10, 2008 - 4:53:10 PM
For the second time in less than 48 hours, crews found themselves with a working fire around 08:00am. This time it was off of Castle Rock road.
As crews were preparing for some ground ladder training, tones dropped for a reported house on fire across from the fairgrounds off Castle Rock Road. E825 arrived on scene within minutes and reported a working fire in a single wide mobile home. The crew from E825 had to pull down a fence as the house was actually on Toro Lane.
As additional units arrived on scene, crews helped stretch lines and establish RIT. Captain Cooper led a team through the front door to do a rapid search of the uninvolved portion of the home as other crews stretched a second line. All search of the home found no occupants.
Crews spent about 2 hours on scene with overhaul and investigation.
Units on scene: E825, E821, E822, E823, Sqd851, 801, 802, 803, 804, 805, 806, BCEMS2, BCSO
