Car Fire Sends Black Smoke Across 170

A car fire just after shift change could be seen for miles as the thick black smoke filled the air.  Shift 1 crews arrived to find a SUV fully involved in fire.  The owner of the vehicle was driving when smoke starting coming from the vehicle.  She quickly pulled over and moments later the vehicle was engulfed in flames.  Crews quickly put the fire out and although there was significant property damage, nobody was hurt during this incident.

Responding personnel were: Captain D. Lewis, Engineer R. Reely, Firefighter A. Harvey, and Volunteer Firefighter J. Thompson III.
