Early this morning, crews were dispatched to a structure fire off of BK Smalls Road.  E822's crew were immediately met by someone on their front pad reporting the structure was well off.  E822 went en route and immediately saw a large thermal column from the station.

E822 arrived on scene within three minutes and reported a working fire in a single family dwelling that was well off with multiple exposures.  Lt. Stan Ganshow assumed command and immediately put his crew to work on aggressive exterior operations to protect multiple vehicle and structural exposures.  E821 arrived on scene and laid in a 5" supply line and then joined the fight.  It took crews about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No exposures were lost thanks the aggressive operations early on.  Sadly, the original fire building was a complete loss.  A special call was made to the Sheldon Fire District for an engine company and personnel.  Also, the Palmetto Chapter of the American Red Cross was called to help with the displaced family.

Units on scene:  IC-Lt. Stan Ganshow, E822, E821, Beaufort E1, Sheldon E41, Sqd851, 802, 804, 805, BCEMS3, BCSO
