On August 26, 2009, Firefighter II Wes Thompson was recognized for successful completion of IFSAC Fire Instructor 1. IFSAC Fire Instructor 1 is a requirement by the SCFA to teach fire classes offered throughout the state. Firefighter Thompson, a member of Shift 1, is a two-year veteran with the Burton Fire District.
