Officer Promotions

Burton Fire District is proud to announce several officer promotions within the department.  The district recently created a new "shift commander" position on each shift to formally recognize one person as being in charge of the entire shift.  That position holds the rank of Captain and all three positions were filled by promoting existing Lieutenants.  Two Lieutenant positions were also filled by the department.  These positions were filled by promoting two senior firefighters.  All officer candidates were required to take a comprehensive written exam and interview with the fire chief prior to being selected for promotion.
