Sparky Visits Broad River Elementary

Burton and Beaufort Fire Departments teamed up today to present a fire safety education program to students at Broad River Elementary.  The highlight of the event was a surprise visit from Sparky the fire dog.  The children at the school spent some time in the classroom learning about fire safety and then were allowed to take a look at the inside of the fire truck.  Sparky spent some time giving hugs and smiles.  The children thanked the firefighters by giving them some chocolate chip cookies which they said they knew firefighters absolutely love.  These kids must know firefighters because they were right.  The cookies were delicious!  Thank you.
