Crews Work Multiple Roll-Over on Savannah Highway

Burton Firefighters responded to a two car MVA at the intersection of Savannah Highway and Baynard Rd.  Upon arrival Burton Engine 823 reported one vehicle upright and the other on its roof,  Lt Ganshow established command and had his crew triage the incident, Engine 822 arrived soon after to lend assistance with the multi-casualty incident.  Port Royal Engine 5 also responded but was cancelled.  Off duty Burton Firefighter John Thompson was first on scene and gave good information to dispatch who relayed the information to responding units.  Burton Firefighters assisted Beaufort County EMS with the packaging and loading of patients. 

 

The overturned vehicle was a Toyota Sequoia which was carrying 6 passengers, 3 adults and 3 young children, all occupants were wearing seatbelts.  All six in the Sequoia were transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital by Beaufort County EMS.  The other driver was not injured in the accident.
