Members Attend State Fallen Firefighter's Memorial Service

Three members of the Burton Fire District attended the SC Fallen Firefighter's Memorial Service in Columbia today at the memorial plaza on the grounds of the South Carolina Fire Academy.  About 150 people from across the state braved the rainy weather to honor the two firefighters being added to the memorial this year.  Assistant Chief Lee Walters of the Sheldon Fire District, who died in the line of duty at a fire on Brays Island last year was added in a tearful ceremony which was attended by his wife and son along with a large group of firefighters from all over Beaufort County.
