The Fire Commission is a five member board that monitors the Burton Fire District. Commissioners are reviewed and selected by County Council and each one resides within the Burton Fire District. A Commission meeting is held monthly to review the financial statements and take care of other departmental business. The Commissioners do not take part in the daily operations of the Fire District, they are however, the final level of the Chain of Command when dealing with personnel issues, budget, and purchases.
